Gladwell on Human Capitalization

Human Capitalization

This video introduces and explains the concept of human capitalization - the rate at which the people in a society that are capable of achieving something actually get a chance to achieve it. Gladwell demonstrates on how institutions and rules that seem harmless can seriously reduce capitalization rates. He does this by showing how the age cutoff for youth hockey has a significant impact who becomes a successful hockey player and who does not.
