The Federal unit covers three weeks of class time (suggested) and begins an overview of the creation of the Constitution and then an examination of the judicial branch and the process of judicial review. The powers of the Presidency are discussed and we examine the role of lobbyists and political parties on the legislative branch.
The Federal unit contains three week-long sections:
the Constitution section deals with its creation, how it works and how it is interpreted
the Executive Branch unit deals with the powers of the President and the Departments
the Legislative Branch section looks at how laws are made.
